I noticed on Green Bay's injury report that Van Roten is listed out w/ a foot injury.  Does anyone know who our backup center will be for this game?

I think they will call Larry McCarren down from the broadcast booth... bent pinky finger and all   ;D

Barclay took some center reps in camp, so he would be my guess, with Newhouse taking over at tackle.

McCarthy in his PC the other day stated they run 4 backup Centers in practice over the course of the year: Sitton, Lang, Van Roten, and Barclay. They feel pretty good about Barclay, I think, so I also see him as the backup Center with Newhouse taking over at RT.

If EDS goes down while GVR is out, I would agree that moving Barclay to C and Newhouse to RT would seem like the most likely scenario.  EDS seems to be the only C on the roster who can reliably execute a shotgun snap to Rodgers, so even if GVR is available, things will get tricky in a hurry if EDS is lost for any significant amount of time.  Given the reserve situation on the interior OL, I still don't really understand why TT made no serious effort to pursue a vet.  I know TT is committed to developing from within, but when an established player like Velasco becomes available at a position of need at a bargain (~525K cap hit) price, I really don't get how TT makes the decision to stick with the status quo.

This has suddenly become a game where DET should be over matched.  GB needs to put them down early and keep them down.

No excuse for the defense not having a good day today.  No Johnson, No Burleson.

Did not expect Megatron to actually sit this one out. Without him, Stafford's arsenal is extremely thin. Hopefully the Packers don't get complacent as a result of it!

I dont know. This D could easly let one Det WR carve up this D. I hope the D steps up today.

If the D suffers another collapse, the Capers bashing we've seen to this point will seem mild.  Whether it's the players or the scheme, the defense must improve.

I don't really think of this as a "must win" game for GB, but it sure as heck would be a demoralizing loss if it played out that way.  As much as anything, I would hate to see DET gain the kind of momentum they would take away from a win today.
