Game Day Thread - 2014 Preseason - Raiders @ Packers
« on: August 19, 2014, 03:41:16 PM »
Reggie McKenzie brings a whole bunch of Packers back to Lambeau for a reunion.

Expect to see Aaron & Co play the entire 1st half and part of the 3rd quarter, as we tune up for the Seahawks.

Friday 8pm EST.

Nationally televised live on CBS.

Looking forward to it.

Honestly wouldn't mind if the offensive starters only played a quarter if they're looking good.  I was shocked at how great the timing looked against the Rams, didn't really look like they needed too much more game time before the season opener.

I will be watching....

- If Sherrod rebounds from Rams game
- Janis can impress again
- Anyone on 2nd/3rd string defense steps up

I would like to see Elliot vs #2 Raiders OL and see if he impresses.

All you guys making mock rosters - I think you'd better have space for Pennel and Elliot. 'Cause I think they both make it. You can never have enough big guys.

Guion looks like toast to me.

GOOD!
Get some announcers who can speak clearly and will be knowledgeable about BOTH rosters and will identify players rather than babbling about bullshit. NFL Network should be ashamed how weak a production the Pack/Ram game was.

Agree.
Elliot I wanna see some more of. See what technique he's got against tougher comp.
Pennel's on the roster in my view. Sign the guy up. He's a BIG problem. Just what our DL needs.

I think Guion looks like PUP to me, which is a nice insurance policy IMO

NFL Network simply broadcast the Rams team feed. The Rams announcers did the exact same thing as the Packer team feed did toward the Packers. Nothing NFL Network will be ashamed of.

I think so.  I don't think he has practiced at all this summer during TC.

Wouldn't he have to already be on the PUP list by this point? I admit I don't understand quite how that works...

He is on the PUP and as long as the Packers don't activate him he will retain that status.

Here is the rule:

Commencing on the day after the conclusion of the sixth regular season weekend (October 15) and continuing through the day after the conclusion of the 11th regular season weekend (November 19), clubs are permitted to begin practicing players on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform for a period not to exceed 21 calendar days. Pads and helmets are permitted during the 21-day period. At any time during the 21-day practice period, or prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the day after the conclusion of the 21-day period, clubs are permitted to restore such players on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform to their Active/Inactive List.

This will be the most interesting game in pre season since we get to see Rodgers and the 1st stringers for at least the first half.

Sherrod
Shields
Hyde
Adams
Elliot
D. Jones
Perry

These are the guys I'll be watching most.

i'll be watching Woodson get a standing O from the Lambeau crowd.  he didn't start his career in GB, but i'm glad we got his best.

these twilight years with the Raiders have a real "Jordan on the Wizards" feel to them.

other than what's been mentioned, i'll also be watching how our DL and pass rush fare against a vulnerable Raiders OL.  i'll also be watching Schaub but that's more out of morbid curiosity at this point.
