The OFFICIAL Packers v Bears Game Day Thread

Away against the formidable Bears. And though I hate the Bears, this is going to be a real tough game to win. But then again, that's why they play the game.

Well, at least one person doesn't seem too concerned about the future of the Packers:

Bears offense will be big test for Packers defense... Marshall and Jeffrey a bit banged up, but still playing well.

I am optimistic Packers offense plays better in this game.  Packers offense has played the #1, #2 and #5 rush defenses...  now we get to face the #26 rush defense.  That may be what the doctor ordered for Packers offense.

#28 offense against the #26 defense. I'd have my money on AR.
Why can't Ted Thompson be the MVP of the NFL?

Kind of interesting, of the 8 people that predicted L-W-L for the first 3 games in the prediction thread, the GB @ Chicago game is split down the middle with 4 votes a piece.

I'm not feeling great about the game as division games are always tough, but lets hope we get things going this week

Not surprising that the Pack has played 3 teams in the top #5 in rush defense; when you only played 3 games and one of those was against a dreadful Pack running game the league ranking are probably a bit skewed.

I thought we would rip apart the Detroit D last week and that obviously didn't happen so I have absolutely no idea what happens this week.  Hopefully the offense comes out pissed off and takes their frustration out on an average at best Bears D.

Jeffrey is a good bet  to play but Marshall is far more questionable; they may or may not get a couple offensive linemen back this week as well.  These are two pretty evenly matched teams if you ask me so it could go either way.

My prediction is that its a normal packers-bears game: Close, tough game until Cutler screws something up and the packers win.

I'll say packers 24, bears 16

Except when you look at the numbers (thanks to Hincha), it doesn't play out that way--the Packers actually performed better than the other teams those opponents have faced:

Rush defense   /  Opponents rushing/carry
#1 Jets         Packers 3.6   /  Bears 2.9  /  Raiders 1.7
#2 Lions       Packers 3.5   /  Panthers 2.6  /  Giants 2.4
#5 Sehawks  Packers 3.8  /  Chargers 2.7  /  Broncos 1.8

So Clay practiced?  Was he limited... I did not see injury report yet for today.

He was limited. Here's the full injury report:

OLB Clay Matthews (groin, limited)
ILB Brad Jones (quadriceps, limited)
OLB Nick Perry (wrist, limited)
CB Davon House (knee, full) <- sigh of relief
WR Jarrett Boykin (knee, full)
RT Bryan Bulaga (knee, full)

MM: "Clay is going to do everything he can. We'll take it day by day."

I see someone posted my stats above... thanks   ;D

Packers rushing game is not quite what it was last season... but it may have been amplified by the first 3 defenses they faced.

Like I said...  if not different this week, then we know there is a bigger issue with the Packers rushing offense.  Personally I expect it to improve this week vs Bears.

Thanks for update....  lets hope Jones stays limited and Matthews can play Sunday.

Still.. the injury report is not too long.  Lets hope it stays that way all season.

I think the Packers surprise everyone this week.  Packers 45, Bears 17

Lots of shots of a very unhappy Jay Cutler.
