displaying pictures
« on: April 20, 2016, 02:13:44 PM »
How do I get a picture to display in the forums ? When I did  my latest mock draft, I loaded all my pictures into photobucket, then copied each address there between the imgs .

Result, a small square box. Hmmm

When making a post you will see 3 rows of tools one can use. In the 2nd row next to the You Tube icon there is a picture icon. Select that and you will be prompted to enter a url address where the photo is located on the Internet. Just the address without <img> </IMG>.

Thanks for that. Too late to change my post now, unfortunately, since it is several hours since I posted that.

Well if you want pics in your Mock start a new thread with the info and include the photos.

If you do I'll remove the first one.

I have just tried what you suggested.
As soon as I click on the photo icon (next to the youtube icon), the only thing that happens is I get appear wherever my cursor was.

There is no prompt for a url address for me. Is this because your privileges are different to mine ?

ps. There only seems to be two lines of icons for me, if you don't count the smiley faces as a third line, but that is not a problem.

When you move your cursor over the Image icon it should say 'Insert Image' and then click and a new window appears which to insert the image url address--- http........

All Members have the ability to insert photos that have the url http address.

In your next reply here try and insert a photo;

I included the smilies as the third row.

Just tried it again in this forum. When I click on the picture icon no new image window appears in which to put the url address, it just puts the into the dialogue box straight away.

I vaguely remember that in the past there was another window popped up, but not now, sorry.

The picture will not show up until you hit Post or Preview, and the [lmg][/lmg] is the command for the system to go find the picture and post it here.

I still don't get the separate box pop up as LMG described, but I created a temporary post in this forum and put a random internet image between the and it worked just fine. There must be something about my having uploaded the images to photobucket, that has caused the failure to display. Thanks for your efforts to resolve it.........at least it doesn't seem to be the fault of Packerchatters software or my access level.

You're probably using the wrong HTML code in photobucket.

This is the correct URL for the Vigil image you wanted to use from your PhotoBucket;
http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv84/Swizz02/2%20Nick%20Vigil.jpg

When you insert that into the 'insert image icon' you get this;
