The OFFICIAL Giants v Packers Game Day Thread
« on: October 05, 2016, 09:08:48 PM »
Two bitter rivals meet again to find out who can show they are the best, deserving of moving on to bigger and better things. And then, there is the football game Sunday night. Yep, the presidential debate will be occurring as the Packers and Giants play. In our house, the debate will probably be on the TV, while I'll stream the game on my laptop. So, let's stick to what this thread is about: will Rodgers continue to be himself? Will the Giants light up the Packers secondary with their excellent receivers? Will the defensive line put some heat on Eli, causing him to throw the ball to the good guys (and hopefully, when he does, they'll actually catch the ball). And, of course, the question that is on the mind of every Packers fan: Will anyone be wearing an Olivia Munn costume for Halloween? Because what could be scarier than that?  ::) MM has an excellent record coming out of bye week. Hopefully, it continues.

Wow, I forgot about that.  I wonder how that will affect the ratings?

I'll confess a level of concern over our DB situation. Eli's no longer the "hold on to the ball for a decade" guy he used to be - and - well, I'm always hoping for the best...but have concerns.

Agreed. And especially every time I read about how vulnerable OBJr is, I get a bit more nervous. And this article didn't help my jitters one bit.

Why do I think this guy is going to have that proverbial "chip on his shoulder" game that always elevates Rodgers? Then again, he can get 500 yards in receiving as far as I'm concerned- as long as the Packers win. Because in the end, that's the only stat that matters.

All I can say is Dom had better play bump and run coverage underneath.  Let Brice and HHCD patrol the back end.  That will give our DL more time to get to Manning and disrupt their passing game.

I think Hawkins is going to respond tonight if he does get PT.  He'll take his lumps, but I'm excited about him.
I'm right and everyone else does not have an opinion worth talking about.

Randall inactive?  Ouch, our secondary is going to get lit up.  Hope Rodgers is on his game tonight because we are going to need to score a lot of points.

Young guys getting playing time. I hope they don't get exposed too bad, but maybe this will be good in the long run. Not like it was going great back there anyways.

Really not sure what the big deal is, our pass defense couldn't get any worse than it already is.

It can always get worse, but it could get better as well.

The offense sure doesn't seem flat anymore.
