The OFFICIAL Packers v Eagles Game Day Thread
« on: November 24, 2016, 12:06:50 PM »
Another week, another chance. It's beginning to look bleak, but it's always darkest before the dawn; or something. Never quit. Doubt, be fretful, vent on here. But don't quit. Anyway, we'll all get to see the game, and hopefully it will be worth watching for all four quarters. There is still a shot at the playoffs, and I remain hopeful. And here is a pre-game preview:

The Birds are 5th overall in points allowed this season (in 10 games), and BY FAR allow the fewest points at home-only 9.5 per game:

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game

That written, I noticed theyve been a bit softer the past three games than their season average. So well see what happens...\ - : #

-Its time for the Packer Defense to Stand and Deliver some turnovers and stop giving up points right before half-time!

-Shake up the rookie QB, and cash in on some short field opportunities.

-I think the defense and/or the (not) special teams (NST) have to generate some points for the Packers to come away with a win tonight.

-Ill check in with Wayne and Larry via WTMJ streaming, but Im not optimistic the Packers will pull out of a four-game tailspin against this salty defense.

-On any given Monday, right? Look what happened to seattle yesterday...oh wait, that was Sunday!  ( - ; #

GO PACKERS!

Not overly optimistic about tonight's game.  This is probably the second best defense we've faced this year and their at home.  While our offensive rankings might represent a quality offense we haven't exactly had that.  We scored just 10 points in the first 3 quarters last week against the 25th best defense in the NFL and that's not going to get it done.  The offense is going to need to come out of the gate scoring and scoring often if we're going to have a chance. Playing catch up in the NFL and settling for FGs isn't good enough.

The VERY VERY VERY small chance we've got to make the playoffs will be all but lost today with a loss tonight so hopefully this team plays with a purpose and not like they can't wait to get off the field.  We've been bordering on terrible for the last 6 weeks and that's got to change if we're finally going to get another W.

I've got little to no confidence in this team given the product we've seen the for the last 2 seasons.  This isn't a team that plays with fire or discipline and lack luster teams that lack discipline don't win many games in the NFL.

Win tonight and we could realistically regain control of our playoff destiny next weekend (Detroit travels to New Orleans). Lose and it's over.

I'm not confident, exactly, but we're due for a good game. Getting Randall and Ryan back would be a boost to the defense, while I feel okay about Spriggs slotting in at guard. What I really, really want is for this team to come out looking sharp from the opening kickoff. It's been a while since we saw that.

Oh, also I hope I'm wrong about Christine Michael and he gives us some good yardage tonight!

It is possible that we could sneak in as a #6 if we win out and things fell our way.  If the Eagles win tonight, I agree, we're donzo.
I'm right and everyone else does not have an opinion worth talking about.

Philly's best O-lineman, RG Brandon Brooks, was hospitalized with an illness and will miss the game.

Other Eagles inactives: Ryan Mathews, Steven Means, Dillon Gordon, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Taylor Hart.

Let's see. . . we're missing our two ILBs, our top corner, our top RB and 2/3 the interior of our line. Yup, we're gonna roll them up.

We're beaten up, but the Eagles are also missing three starting OL (Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks, Halapoulivaati Vaitai) and their top RB.
