The OFFICIAL Texans v Packers Game Day Thread
« on: December 01, 2016, 11:57:47 AM »
Time to extend the winning streak. It's still too early to count the Packers in, and too early to count them out. This season could well come down to the final three games of the season, with the Packers playing (in order) the Bears  thumbsdwn), Vikings and Lions. Two road games, one at Lambeau. But, that's too far ahead to even contemplate at this time. It's still a "win or stay home" scenario for the Packers IMO. So, let's hope for the best on Sunday, and take it from there.

I think the Packers should sit Matthews with his AC joint sprain. If we have any chance of making the playoffs we need to be able to win this game without him and hopefully get him healthy.

Houston has Clowney and Jon Simon out. According to their depth chart they only carry two OLB which leaves them with only Merciles Whitney at OLB. Not sure where the pass rush is going to come from which is the perfect medicine for Rodgers hammy.

We should win, but this team is prone to some bad football. Let's see if last week was a trend or an aberration.

70% chance of snow for the entire game.  Not ideal conditions for Rodgers hammy.

Fwiw, Packers are dominant at home in the month of December, they are 19-3 under McCarthy.
You are either part of the solution or part of the problem.

Heartened to hear/read how badly Osweiler has produced and the apparent "disconnect" between him and his talented/fast WR's. I certainly hope that continues - but given our secondary's recent challenges - I like the "We better get pressure on the guy and make him make fast/bad decisions" road to victory. Hope we travel down it.

December Football in Green Bay:

https://weather.com/weather/today/l/USWI0288:1:US

Time for the Packers to regain that Lambeau Mojo! The game’s not on the local CBS affiliate, so I’ll listen in with Wayne and the Rock. Osweiller may have played in some snowy conditions with Denver, but I’m hopeful he’ll continue to be generous with his turnovers, and that the Rowdy Home Town Fans will have plenty to cheer about!

As crappy as the Packers have looked much of this season, this is a game they ought to win. They will have to slow Lamar Miller, and having Jake Ryan back in the middle should help that process.

It will be interesting to see if Rodgers can continue what he started last week. Cobb and Jordy have played plenty in the snow, and need to produce. It would be ideal if they can get a little bit of a running game with Monty, Christine, and RIP and control TOP. AND, Jared Cook should have some opportunities for catches...and I hope he leaves the butterfingers behind.

edit:

Two more pregame keys: I think the Packers have to get some “special play” from their not-so-special teams. Schum actually has been kciking the ball pretty well, but he has yet to play in the snow and cold. So we’ll see. But those cover teams have to play better! And it would be GREAT to see a long return by the Packers, rather than the opponent!

FINALLY, Can the Packers prevent a team from scoring right before halftime?? \ - : #

GO PACKERS!

I love how Dom has our defense lined up right now.  Tight bump and run coverage is giving our pass rush an extra tic to get there.
I'm right and everyone else does not have an opinion worth talking about.

This is what our defense can look like when our DC puts them in a position to succeed.
