I am not upset about this one at all.  Typically after three years with DL you know what you got or what you don't have!  He was PATHETIC last year!  The good news is if he plays decent for Minn and plays all year, he will go into the calculation for comp picks for next year and we might see multiple high picks if Lacey, Hyde, peppers and Jones perform decent.

Jones looked quite foolish last year against several team, namely the AFC opponents!  He mailed his performance in in several games last year!

This is just plain BS.  Jones isn't an elite pass rusher.  He certainly shouldn't have been rushing out of a 2 point stance as an OLB.  But - he does set a nasty edge in the running game and he can swing inside on passing downs.  He was a bust in terms of first round picks, but he isn't a terrible player.
I'm right and everyone else does not have an opinion worth talking about.

I wanted him back, but knowing we're going to get an edge player in the draft do not feel this is a major blow. Still have Perry, Matthews, Elliott, and Fackrell. I also think this Gilbert kid who was on our practice squad can play  a little bit too.

Might be a little early to claim Gilbert for Jones as a "push".

But if Gilbert makes a step forward, I could see that as a reasonable assumption.

SIGN BARWIN!!!!! NOW!!!!

Just for the record there was no implying by me that Gilbert for Jones was a push. Those are your words, not mine in any way, shape or form. I liked Datone Jones and thougth he could help.

I do expect improvement from Fackrell and Elliott and yes Gilbert. How much, I do not know. I also expect and edge rusher to be drafted in round 1 or 2 at the latest.

To be fair, Jones has been moved a couple times and Nick Perry had just 12.5 sacks 4 years into his career.  We're now paying Perry almost 12 million a year.

My gosh, a couple days ago, the board was giddy with the signing of two TE's. All was good. Now, the loss of an older OG, a marginal defender, and RB who many were ambivalent about, and the sky is falling. Is there a plan? I believe there is. What is it? Ask TT. Or the Sphinx. Because each equally likely to share their plans.

No worries! Had I read the second sentence it would have cleared it up so partly my fault too. Sorry if I came off poorly or harsh!

I think Jones wanted to get out of GB and play in a scheme he would be much more natural at, namely a 4-3.

I think he will play better up there in Minny and hopefully we will get a good comp pick for him.  Although I think we are almost maxed out with comp picks already.

I don't understand why TT has not signed Barwin yet.  Personally I would prefer not to play a rookie at OLB.  In our defense that is not an easy spot to learn.

You ain't getting a comp pick for a guy who only got 3.5 million. There are way too many qualifying signings way above that mark. The best sight for pinning down comp picks have already said no pick for Peppers and his deal is bigger or at least potentially bigger.

The only comp. Pick we will probably get is from losing Lang. The rest are not even going to qualify.

Thread started regarding comp picks and the 'experts' have us getting a 4, 5 and 6 I believe.

IMO, we will get a comp for Tretter, Hyde and Lang.

Concerning the rest, is it only per player, I thought sometimes they added two contracts together.

But of course we signed a couple of guys also.

We've only signed one actually. House and Kendricks were both cuts.

Over the Cap currently has us receiving the max four picks with room to spare and Cook still to go. So unless Ted suddenly goes on a UFA shopping spree, we're going to be loaded going into next year's draft.
